ipanemaIf you head for Rio on your vacation, it’s strongly recommended for you to visit Ipanema beach, one of the most renowned beaches in Brazil. Ipanema boasts its unbelievable magic, style of its culture and history surpassing the time.

It is sometimes dubbed the little Paris of Brazil, as it is so much loved for its art galleries, avant-garde theatres, art movie theatres and bookshops with coffee flavor.

Ipanema is also considered to be one of the richest districts in Rio. But anyway you will find lodgings for reasonable prices.

As for the beach itself , it is amazing and is regarded as some of the best in Rio. Here you may indulge in all beach sports, from foot volley to body boarding and surfing.

The area close to Ipanema beach, named Areopador beach is famed for its surfers, surf schools and most of all for the tide. The surf is between 1m and 3m (3 ft-10 ft).

Ipanema offers a 2km-long stretch of white sand. With the tree-lined streets of Ipanema, the luxury boutiques of Leblon to the east, and the Dos Hermanos mountains looming from the far end of the bay, the place is definitely among some of the most breathtaking in the country.

You still can get caiparinhas and cerveza here. After the sunset you should walk to the Garota de Ipanema restaurant close to the beach, where composers Tom Jobim and Vinicius de Moraes, as some say, wrote the Bossa Nova classic The Girl From Ipanema, watching her go passing by.
