Nessebar is located in 20 km north from Bourgas. The town boasts two beaches close to the new town. The season is during July and August. Old town offers mostly private rooms and there are very few family hotels; the accommodation in the New town is much more varied, there are lots of nice hotels as well as private rooms.

The place provides plenty of activities and entertainment. One may relish the ancient architecture as well as historical monuments and quaint restaurants or stylish cafes and nightclubs. You may also visit Bulgaria's biggest beach resort Sunny Beach that is located only in 3 km from Nessebar.

The town is located on a little peninsula in the Black Sea which is connected with the land only by a long and narrow isthmus. It was founded as Thracian settlement; later it was a Greek town, then a Roman colony. It is divided into 2 parts - the Old Town and the New Town.

Nessebar is famous for the old town (it is about 9000 years). There is no certain point of view whether the isthmus is natural or man-made.

The buildings here date from 11th to 14th centuries and churches are most of them built in the so called "picturesque" style.

Nowadays the old part of the town has got back its unique romantic atmosphere: narrow cobbled streets, little squares, two-storied houses with outside staircases, gift shops, bars, taverns and charming flower gardens.
