| Northern Islands | There are several good beaches at Yanuca including those where the two surf camps have set up.
The coastline at Beqa Island is mostly rugged.
Northern Islands
Taveuni does not boast the best beaches in Fiji. The east coast’s Lavena beach is probably the best on the island. Several nice beaches are located within walking distance of Matei Airport including the popular Prince Charles Beach. The three small islands (Qamea, Matangi and Laucala) off the north-east coast of Taveuni boast of the best beaches in the area.
Vanua Levu offers the spectacular views of bays and the rainforest than for its beaches and much of the coastline is mangrove forest. Several islands off both southern and northern Vanua Levu have excellent beaches with small exclusive resorts.
Apart from the local village atmosphere, the beaches on Rabi and Kioa are rather dull.
