Hawaii beaches are renowned all over the world and each one features a special attraction all its own. Hawaii's beaches offer you an opportunity to do anything you can imagine in some of the most beautiful ocean conditions in the world - from the most crowded beach like Oahu's Waikiki Beach where you can people-watch and enjoy the sand, surf, and perfect swimming conditions to the secluded yet spectacular beaches of Kauai's Napali Coast.

All the eight major islands in the Hawaiian archipelago - Oahu, Kauai, Maui, Molokai, Lanai, Hawaii, Niihau (a private island off of Kauai that is restricted to it's native Hawaiian residents), and Kahoolawe (an uninhabited island off of Maui) caters a collection of beaches reflective of their topography and age.

The oldest islands in the chain: Kauai, Oahu, and Maui offer more sandy beaches. But Hawaii, with its active volcanoes and extensive lava rock shorelines, offers the some unique black sand beaches that originate with the lava shorelines and volcanic activity.

When to Visit:
Beaches in Hawaii are the busiest in winter (Dec – Feb), mostly because of the weather elsewhere. The hottest beach weather is June through October; December through March is the wettest.

Prices at the hotels are highest mid-December to the end of March.

The best period for surfing are winter, particularly the Christmas season at Oahu's North Shore, otherwise the summer (July-August) has the best water condition for swimming, snorkeling, windsurfing and scuba diving.
Some beaches have seasonal high surf in summer.
