This marvelous public beach shares some facilities with the Hotel Hana Maui and is located just outside of Hana. The vegetation here is lush and sea cliffs enclose the bay. Hamoa Beach has been rated as one of Hawaii's favorite beaches. There is the little coconut-topped island of Alau offshore.
 
Services and Amenities: No lifeguard; Restrooms; Picnic facilities; Sandy beach; Swimming, snorkeling, diving, bodysurfing; Occasional high surf; No parking by the beach - park on the road and take the stairs down to the beach.

Warnings: 
As Hamoa Beach is not protected by any fringing reefs, the big surf is extremely dangerous here. There are strong currents outside of the bay. The summer through early fall is the safest time to swim. You should always closely monitor ocean conditions. Mind all postings and warnings.
