| Hellshire Beach |  Visitors will find a number of narrow beaches along the south coast of Jamaica that attract a local crowd. One of the most popular is Hellshire Beach. It is the largest one and this beach has interesting black sands and cool clean waters.
Though Hellshire Beach is not particularly secluded, other beaches in Jamaica are a bit more urban than this one.
Hellshire is located close to the cities – without being too close – you'll have everything you need.
Some vacationers consider the level of activity at a beach and its amenities to be rather important; others feel that it is the seclusion and the chance to waste away the day on the sand that is the most important thing.
It is on the eastern coast of Jamaica, 5 miles from Fort Charles. A trip into Portmore is a definite option, as Hellshire Beach is close to the town.
Hellshire Beach shows are legendary and draw extremely large crowds to its shores. On the weekends beauty contests, concerts, and various other activities keep this beach active and packed. You may find food at numerous local vendors and the facilities are adequate for a few hours on the beach.
This beach has a distinctive quality which some visitors will find just perfect. This beach’s ambience is a bit different from what is offered at the other beaches in Jamaica. Hellshire Beach’s casual and friendly atmosphere attracts a range of locals to its shores, mostly on the weekends. You will see fishermen work the shores, women cook and sell fried foods, and locals come out to enjoy their days in leisure. Plenty of people appear when the beach puts on different forms of activities like beauty contests and reggae concerts.
Visitors can also explore various natural attractions that are well worth checking out, for example, Royal Botanic Gardens, lies 14 miles to the northeast of Hellshire Beach, as well as Fort Charles that is located 5 miles to the northeast of Hellshire Beach.
