North Coast Beaches

north-kenyaThe shoreline North of Mombasa is a world of enchanting history and incredible nature beauty. The unspoiled palm fringed beaches stretch along the coast, and the calm welcoming waters of the Indian Ocean. The stretch is broken by the wide mouth of Kilifi Creek, where lots of yachts and ships call during the international yachting circuit.

The beaches of Nyali, Vipingo, Kikambala and Shanzu boast a wide range of World Class resorts with excellent cuisine and services. The serene beach escapes of Mtwapa and Takaungu cater an ideal getaway from the hustle of the world, with deserted beaches without end.

The offshore coral reefs, myriad fish, sea turtles and dolphins are among the main attractions of the location. Both outer and inner reefs provide world class diving with amazing coral gardens and drop offs, and Kenya offers great wreck diving.

Regular buses and Matatus operate on the North Coast Highway. They are less regular north of Mailndi. Or you can take the taxi available in any town, or at most hotels or resorts.
